On the basis of the multidimensional model of the caregiving process, this study aimed (a) to compare the levels of quality of life (QoL) and psychological problems of children with short stature and the levels of caregiving stress and QoL of their parents, between diagnostic, treatment, and current height deviation groups, and (b) to examine the direct and indirect links, via caregiving stress, between children's psychosocial functioning and their parents' QoL.

Eine zentrale Aufgabe der medizinischen Versorgung ist aus ärztlicher Sicht die hinreichende Einbeziehung und Aufklä- rung des Patienten in den therapeuti- schen Prozess. Hierzu gehört die Vermitt- lung von Informationen und Einsichten zur Erkrankung sowie zu den verschiede- nen möglichen Handlungsoptionen. Am Ende sollte hier eine informierte Ent- scheidung im Sinne der partizipativen Entscheidungsfindung stehen.

Most children and adolescents with chronic health conditions have impaired health-related quality of life and are at high risk of internalizing and externalizing problems. However, few patients present clinically significant symptoms. Using a decision-tree approach, this study aimed to identify risk profiles for psychological problems based on measures that can be eas- ily scored and interpreted by healthcare professionals in pediatric settings.

The combination of growth hormone (GH) and aromatase inhibitors (AI) improves linear growth in severely short adolescent boys; however, the effects of this interven- tion on quality of life (QoL) are unknown. This study assesses whether GH, AI, or their combination impacts the QoL of ad- olescent males with idiopathic short stature (ISS) from both the adolescent and the parent perspective.
